Why does the Steinberg Compare Versions page say (4) VST Instruments for Pro?

https://www.steinberg.net/cubase/compare-editions/

The Pro column says unlimited VST instrument tracks, but then a little further down says (4) VST Instruments. What does this mean?

Thanks!

You can create any number of VST tracks using your 4 different VST instruments.
EDIT: @Martin90 's answer below is more detailed

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I guess the two entries in the comparison table refer to these points:

  • You can create an unlimited number of instrument tracks in Cubase Pro.
  • Cubase Pro comes with a lot of additional content and VST plugins including 4 instruments, like Retrologue, PadShop and Groove Agent SE.

Thank you for explaining!

That’s what I nearly suspected, until reading further down on the same page under “Virtual Instruments” where there appear to be (6) items. Are some of these not really Virtual Instruments, but rather sample libraries or something?

Of the 6 listed under “Virtual Instruments” 3 of them are usable within Halion Sonic, namely Iconica Sketch, Trip and Flux.

The lines are a little blurred as Halion Sonic might be regarded as a “player for instruments” or as an “instrument” depending on how you look at it.
