My explanation was only if you took a stereo (or mono) bus and routed it directly to the bed. Then those signals show up in L/R in the bed, but not LFE. But because you’re doing the direct routing of the mono to the LFE child bus, that accomplishes the same as using the LFE mix knob in the surround panner.
The main thing is that somehow the signal must explicitly be routed to the LFE channel. Multiple ways of doing that.

But it also allows me to make specific sends, only when I want. And very visible in the Mixconsole. I think.
