Why is Cubase called Cubase?

Aloha guys,

I went to MySteinberg and had a look around in the
‘Steinberg Museum’ and the ‘About Steinberg sections’
and found nothing on why Cubase is called Cubase.

Perhaps a mod will chime in on this.
