Would anyone know what’s preventing the flow title from showing up?
The “first page” template is applied, and it’s definitely using the Flow Title token.
Is the flow’s title set in the project info?
Yes, I tried to capture a corner of the Project Info dialog in the screenshots above to show that it is.
I think the “T” in the “{@flowTitle@}” token needs to be capitalized.
No, I don’t think it’s the capital T (I’m inserting the token by right-clicking and selecting the appropriate one, so I’m not actually typing anything).
Interestingly, I notice that if I switch from “Show all flow headings” to “Never show flow headings”, the issue disappears.
Is it a bug?
I might be wrong, but what you should see there is Project Title. The flow title is usually used for the flow headings. It’s inside the Music Chain, so Dorico knows which flow it is. If you really want to input a flow title there, you should tell Dorico which flow. Like {@flow3title@} is the token that would display the third flow title.
I tried to reproduce this and failed. (I had no idea you could insert tokens via right click!) The token doesn’t seem to be case sensitive. If you post the project, or a cut down version of it, we could probably be much more efficient figuring out what the issue is.
The flow headings options refer to the flow heading templates (separate from page templates)
What we see in the picture is a First page and that flow title token is in a text frame outside the music frame : it is not a flow heading.
I don’t know if it’s been done in the First page template or with an override, but this does not change the problem I’ve described just before your last post.
What you’re saying makes sense. I modified the “First page” template so that it contains the flow title rather than the project title, and at this point Dorico might not know which flow this frame relates to…
What’s weird is that it works if flow headings are not displayed, but if I try to display flow headings, it’s greyed out…
That’s good to know. But with some 40 flows in this documents, which are still moving around, it’s definitely something to leave to the end of the process…
You’re showing flow headings in this layout.
If the layout is set to hide flow titles above flow headings, then the big “flow title” at the top of the page (the one that comes from the First page template), then it won’t appear.
Thanks @Lillie_Harris, that seems to have sorted it out.
