Why no wmv support?

Is it that hard to implement? I hate that apple has the cornered the market on video and mp3 players

Yes, because the Video Engine is no QT only. So as long as QT doesn’t support wmv …

Ironically wmv works well on OS X with Perian and Flip4Mac installed…

So there are QT .wmv codecs available for Mac!?
Third party I suppose.

Not that I know of. But you can easy convert the wmv to say h.264 with MPEG streamclip etc.

Sadly it looks that MS lost the video codec race. Very sad, since they really had professional codecs, and nothing of the api troubles which is with quicktime (legacy)
