Have you tried OmniVocal yet? Personally, I believe it’s going to be a real game changer. I’m sure you’ll like it — and rest assured, it won’t just be integrated into Nuendo, there’s a lot more coming.
I’d love to hear your impressions once you’ve tried it
I haven’t, as yet tried the Steinberg/Yamaha offering but am keen to do so and hopefully by that time, there will be more than two (2) voices.
Emvoice is, designed for simplicity and in that respect it excels, however there is an unfortunate system load that it creates though, due to network activity and with my setup, it negates my being able to save a project, whilst the DAW is running but it is a single plug-in, and it syncronises easily with variable tempo and time signature so in that respect, it is the best choice for me currently.
With respect ot the Dreamtonics offering, I really like the sound of the voices notwitstanding the fact that most of the so-called “English” voices, are in fact created with native Spanish speakers but the plug-in lacks what I consider to be basic functionality, namely, zoom controls and Autoscroll Suspend, which interestingly, Emovice has but I do like the text input of Synth V, whereas Emvoice has all of the text in a single line, and there is no arrow key support (Emvoice One) unfortunately.
As for, OmniVoice, I am interested in the text editing situation there, as it is contained in the Key Editor/MIDI data, which can be exported and used with other systems, so at a basic level, Steinberg/Yamaha have nailed the functionality, and I believe this is the way forward for music production, where, insofar as modern music is concerned, the vocalist(s) is/are, the last thing to be introduced but they could also be used at any time, as tempo is not an issue in any case.
