Will other people's projects mess up my settings?

I got a project from someone else, it’s a C5 project. I know I can open it with my C7, and I don’t mind those missing plugins(I’ll remove them anyway).
The thing is, will this project change my settings(prefs, layout, colors, devise setup)? I mean, if I close this project after I finished it, and open a new one using my own template, will something change?

No.

You should always have a b/u of your AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Cubase folder just in case, however.
