I agree
It is not uncommon to start with the Cubase trial, get immersed in the creative flow, and suddenly realize that two months have flown by without the Nuendo version in sight. If you reach out to Steinberg with your concerns, they may be willing to extend your trial period.
I think Itās worth explaining your situation to themāthey tend to be supportive of creative professionals!
If I remember correctly (I often donāt ), the forums before this version had a sub-forum documenting confirmed issues.
I think your memory is failing on you. I been on the steinberg forums for at least three incarnations. (Or my memory are failing or it was very well hiddenā¦)
Hmm. I read your statement again. Yea, there was something but not a tracker.
I also vaguely recall something in the previous forum, but not an actual or quasi-formal tracker as was suggested. But then again, my memory could also be failing me.
It did. It also included assigned bug tracking numbers as well.
Cool, I donāt remember that. Thanks. It would be nice if Steinberg did something like that again. How long ago was it? I canāt remember when the forum switched. Feels like about a decade, plus or minus. In any case, itās a good suggestion, Iām all for transparency at Steinberg. Unlikely to happen though IMO. They have a certain formula right now and with C14 they know itās working better than it has in years. I doubt theyād make a change like that right now. But who knows.
They are/was Steinberg support issues. You could not read them if it was not yours. And now there seems to be nothing. The issues from 2022 does not go to a support page, instead you are moved to your Steinberg account. No traces at all from the old bugs (still present).
Admittedly, my memoryās getting a little fuzzy as well but, if Iām right, there were two bug-related sub-forums. One was for reporting bugs and was, unsurprisingly, a bit of a free for all. However, if somebody properly reported something which was repeatable, and it was confirmed by two or three other users, the thread would migrate to the confirmed bug sub-forum, and a CAN number was assigned (which you could see). After that, it was just a question of if and when the bug would be fixed and released.
I found it useful on occasions when I experienced some quirky behaviour in Cubase / Nuendo and checked the confirmed bug forum to see if anything matched. If it did, Iād just stop trying to diagnose the problem.
The āissuesā tag on this forum isnāt really satisfactory as thereās no way to determine if a bug is truly confirmed by Steinberg or not (unless a dev has joined a thread to explicitly say so).
I can currently find no information that Steinberg would be represented at NAMM 2025.
Since then, a date has always been announced where the new Nuendo version will be presented live on YouTube.
Apparently Nuendo 14 is not ready to be demonstrated yet. Otherwise we would have received the live video at NAMM with the announcement of the publication.
Thatās what I tell myself. I must admit to a certain disappointment. At the end of 2024, SB was talking about the beginning of 2025. This is it. Unless the year starts in February or Marchā¦
As already discussed from visiting with Steinberg at the Steinberg/Yamaha Namm area last Thursday on posts elsewhere.
HƩhƩ.
That was my project back then.
Indeed, a bugreport which was reproduced by other members was moved to the Bugbase. That meant that I had added the bug in the official Bugbase (which is only open for insiders) and I communicated the status of that bug.
āNot in scopeā, āPriority levelā, āfixed in next releaseā, etc ā¦"
The workarounds , if any, were also added.
At some point, the Powers That Be decided that I couldnāt do this anymore.
They had valid reasons for that, and no matter what, this was too labor-intensive to continue.
So yes, it did exist at some point.
Fredo
Ah, it was you! I remember wondering why the Cubase and Nuendo forums had a different structure.
Anyway, a big, belated āThank Youā from me as I found it useful on several occasions.
I wish we had similar here on the Discourse forum.
Belated thank you to @Fredo from me too! Times change, things move on. Maybe theyāll change again and weāll have some other public tracker at some point.
I guess technically, March is still Q1, and my money is on March right now. And to be specific, Iām betting Nuendo 14 will be announced at Game Developers Conference (GDC) - March 17-21, 2025! There is a precedent. They announced Nuendo 10 there if my memory servesā¦
Modulators are big news and will undoubtedly open up new playing fields. Iām curious about how this will work with something like a randomizer, thoughāit might risk becoming redundant in the face of these advancements.
I really hope dialogue tools continue to evolve, even if it takes a few more months. A few weeks ago, I had a conversation with one of the Pro Tools development executives who hinted at watertight integration with Media Composer and some serious improvements to dialogue editing tools. While he didnāt give much away, he did mention Resolve, which makes me think AI-powered transcription, translation, and voice cloning could be on the horizon. Text-based editing might also be part of that mix.
Looking at the broader trends, itās clear that AI technology is advancing rapidly in this direction. Pro Tools focusing on deeper integration with Media Composer is definitely promising. AI transcription, translation, and voice cloning represent major leaps forward, and the increasing buzz around text-based editing shows just how much potential there is to streamline workflows. If these tools come together effectively, the speed and precision with which we can create and edit dialogue could revolutionize the entire process.
My C14 trail also ended , I had only just updated to N13 , not long after C14 was released with lots of things I now use , I have have decided to go back to Cubase for now and see if N14 has new thing I will use if no I stick to C14 . it is a pain but if we are getting faster fixes and update with Cubase then for me will switch back
Sorry to hear that. Did you contact support? If you explain your situation, they may extend it. If youāre in Post Production, C14 isnāt even an option.
We did a series that goes in-depth on things only Nuendo can do.
Just be patient.
To be honest, I have not had a reply from support in over two months . Iām actually a composer and create music so Iām not imposed, there are a few things N13 Which is why I moved over, but the music creation c14 Is so much better
Hi @Rajiv_Mudgal - just to be clear so no one takes things out of context, my statement was:
āIām bettingā is important to mention again, as I have NO inside information from Steinberg, and I am only guessing!
Looking forward to Nuendo 14 whenever it comes out!
Cheers!
