Will there still be a 50% off summer sale this year?

The reason I ask is that Cubase typically goes on sale for 50% off during late spring / early summer. So, is the current 30% off that sale, or will there also be a later 50% off?

I skipped the version 15 upgrade when it first came out, but at 50% off I would definitely upgrade.

Usually, there is another offer in late summer. I am not sure though if it’s 50% off. If I remember correctly it’s 40% off.

I think I once bought an upgrade during summer sale for 50% off, but I might be misremembering. I think Reco29 is correct with 40% off.

I will wait for the summer sale to update to and then wait until C16 arrives to make use of the grace period…

That was my definite plan, but with today’s update I’m going to re-evaluate.

Time to review the “This is Cubase 15!”- type vids from a few months ago.

Yes, you’re right. It’s a 40% off sale.

I must have been thinking about Native Instruments’ 50% off summer sale.

Nah, I am going to wait… I don’t use folders much, so the folder/group thing is rather irrelevant for me, and as for the rest… What I really really want is having back the ability to navigate mix console, dialogs etc with key commands, like in C12.

That’s the beauty of it: Noone is forced to update in case the latest version doesn’t tick enough of one’s own boxes :+1:
For me, the folder/group functionality alone would have been reason enough to update if I hadn’t already updated earlier this year.

Sure, and with the “buy-in-a-sale-and-wait-for-grace-period” method you can get two major version upgrades of Cubase for not much money. I am not complaining! (Well, only about the “we-don’t-support-keyboard-navigation-like-any-other-program-has-anymore” regression  )

Steinberg still allows us to buy an upgrade now and delay activating it until anytime in the future?

Last time I upgraded Cubase was from 12 to 14, and I did it like this:

Bought the upgrade from 12 to 13 in a summer sale and only used the download access code when C14 was released. Worked, got the 14 upgrade for free.

No one can guarantee though that it will always work in the future (and I am not sure about “anytime”).

If you want to wait that long you can probably update to the highest available version. At least, that’s how it worked in the past.
As @fese pointed out, there’s no guarantee. Worst case scenario, you just get the version you actually paid for. If you want to try, make sure to leave the Download Access Code you’ll get via mail untouched.
