Win 10 20H2 support ?

Does anyone know if Win 10 2OH2 is supported ? . Ive heard reports of drivers having to be reinstalled after the update ?

The official word is not yet.

That doesn’t mean it wont work, but if it doesn’t, you’re on your own for support - they won’t help.

That said, I’ve not had a problem with CB in the past when updating Win10 beyond the officially supported version, but I always take a full system image backup before doing any such updates, so I have a way back if the worst happens.

In fact, in the past, CB has often worked better on the later WIn10 release, but one day it wont…

it may not be “supported” but im running 20H2 (19042.630) without any issues

if you look on the offical requirements, they do list the OS versions, so if support is a priority for you, stick to those versions

Requirements
64-bit Windows 10 Version 1909 / 64-bit Windows 10 Version 2003
macOS Mojave / macOS Catalina / macOS Big Sur
4 GB minimum required memory
8 GB RAM or more recommended
35 GB free storage space

I checked the versions earlier and they only support up to 2003 which was renamed 2004

then there is your answer, they are the “supported” versions.

I always enjoy the optimism of somebody thinking SB will help if you have issues

lol tell me about it, i raised a support ticket (the first i ever have in all my years of using steinberg products) just to get a trial of groove agent 5 as their website is broke over 5 days ago and not heard anything (and to be honest i dont expect to either)

@ steinberg Your request (ticket ID# 338425) just in case you ever feel like being bothered

5 days is nothing - I have tickets open for several months…I suspect I’ve tickets that are well over a year …

actually just checked and SB marked everything as closed…even though they are not.

anyway, offtopic

Now on 20H2 and CB11 here. Everything working well for hours now.

I’ll wait alittle longer. Will update after I finish a project. Not gonna risk it now.

It’s working fine here. 20H2 is a fairly minor update compared to for example build 2004 (20H1) so I didn’t really expect any issues either. One of the perks of working in Windows is that OS updates are way more safe for audio software than macOS updates! With that said there have been some problematic feature updates in the past, so it’s always good to do some research first before installing them.

Yes 20H2 is minor, I would not expect issues either.

As of November 12, Windows 10 20H2 is a supported OS for Cubase 11, 10.5 and 10.0.50.

Thank Soundman , this is great , thanks
