You could wiki this, but apparently there is a new win 8 that fits on a usb called ‘windows to go’. It is fully functional but only goes on a small subset of usb sticks. I wonder if you could put a full cubase on too and have your daw on a usb?

How about an image of a daw on a usb stick? Take it with you to your friend’s house…
not unless the system at the friends house is completely identical (drivers etc)
Wouldn’t take too long to load a ccouple of drivers - graphics and sound?
Not sure if the speed of USB would be up to it though…
