Windows update needing new driver install [SOLVED]

Did you unplug both at the same time?

Maybe the following link might help?
Windows 10 Fall Creators / TOOLS for UR: ‘Preparing to install’ Problem

Raphie : yes, I had both unplugged at the same time.

JBladt : interesting! I’ll take a look at that!

What I really don’t get though, is that Cubase, Kontakt and PLAY have all survived the Windows update with no problems and are working fine. I’m no expert, but isn’t it more of an issue with Wavelab rather than any problem related to drivers per se?

Yep, that did the trick!

I did actually have the latest driver installed, but as Phillippe had pointed out, it needed to be uninstalled, reset and re-installed. Thanks to all for the help.

Just adding, I was going thru the same issue. In may case it was when trying to start PianoTeq.
Uninstalling the Steinberg USB Driver, rebooting, and then reinstalling the Steinberg USB driver did the trick. PianoTeq started right up.
