With Combi tool active cannot 'play from start of session" ?!

I have the Combi Tool activated… ie… object and range selection linked.

No matter what I do I can’t do anything to play the session from the start.

To achieve this I have to click off my current selection, then press return…

In Pro Tools they have a “play from start” button on the transport bar. No such button exists>

Anyone???

I want to keep the Combi tool on and press one button on my MacBook to start session from start…

If you proffer a solution please try the solution before you post it!

To replicate my problem…
Enable combi tool… click somewhere on a region (within the audio wave picture) and then try to do anything to play from start of session.

I’ve just spent 3 hours on it.

I have to click out of the region first, then press return… that’s a poor solution,.

I just tried it here and it’s working fine. using the standard num key “0”.

Since you’re on a MacBook, and assuming you’re not using a numerical keypad (I’ve got one for remote work-- comes in handy in many situations), you might consider assigning the “Stop” command to the key of your choice.

Your solution does not work.

I am not using a num pad.

Why would assign the stop command?
Play is spacebar and it then toggles to stop functionality.

My bad on that one-- I had customized my key commands.

The command, clearly named (and an easy search in Key Commands) is “Go to Project Start.”

Default key is the comma, I believe. You can assign it to whatever you like.

Hmm, no. It pauses the play.
If it was a stop command, it would go back to the beginning or the last start position on stop.
But you can activate that in preferences.

Click the stop button twice.
