WL12 Encoder Checker, bugs

I get consistent crashes loading Enocder Checker into Playback Processing and selecting ogg vbr.

AAC and Opus are also greyed out and not available?

I will check for ogg.

Opus is not available for the Encoder Checker.

AAC is available only if you upgraded from WaveLab 11, because only in that case you benefit from a Fraunhofer license, which is necessary for the Encoder Checker.

Ok, I upgraded from 11.2 and AAC works just fine there. So why is that not showing up properly you think?

Do you mean, if you open the file format dialog, you can’t select Fraunhofer, like on the 2nd picture?

Exactly, these are my options.

Compared to this scenarion in WL11.2.

I do have AAC as an option there but no Fraunhofer available.

I see. Hopefully, I can collect some info about your case on tomorrow.

Hi. I have Fraunhofer but not AAC.

Try this. Open the Steinberg Activation Manager. Do you see this entry? If yes, make sure to activate it. And of course, restart WaveLab.

No, I don’t have that option. I guess a different codec was used in WL11.2 which isn’t available now in W12?

Neither do I!

Just tried following on here with Wavelab12 on my Mac running Monterey.
Never used this function before so a new learning experience

Encoder checker opened and running OK with an MP3 encoder in slot one.

As soon as the ogg vbr option selected for slot 2 Wavelab crashed instantly.

Below is my crash log if it assists.
