Hi
There
I’m looking for ways to save time and avoid mistakes when exporting the album PDF.
Most of us use the “CD Album to PDF” function to send a vinyl album to cutting. (or cassette)
Right now, we usually add extra information in the Comments field, but it takes a lot of space, so the PDF often ends up on 2 pages and the 2nd page is not read or gets forgotten. This leads to phone calls, wasted time, etc.
It would be great to make everything more compact,
but also more standardized, in a header with 2 or 3 columns, taking at most 1/4 of the page.
For example, by ticking options like we already do now, but more vinyl-oriented
:
-
Side / Group (Side A, B, C, D, etc.) / 1 track per side or full album
-
Bit depth / sample rate
-
Record reference (catalog number)
-
Our contact details
Then the track list would use all the remaining space, to make sure it fits on a single page, even if that means reducing the font size.
When saving, it would be helpful if the Side / Group could be inserted as a variable at the beginning of the default file name.
At the moment, I often overwrite Side A by mistake, because I forget to type “A - name of montage” manually. It sounds funny, but it’s as annoying as forgetting to put the strain relief on a cable before soldering, and having to desolder / resolder just to add it. In the end, it’s a real source of errors for me.
if this is possible, it would be great.
Possibly there other great ideas to implement on this pdf function but, this is start
Please complete if you have ideas.
Best Olivier
