Thank you. I was wondering about this. On my Windoze 7 professional 32 system the import dialogue, for some reason, did not appear. By the time I saw this thread I had already copied the data/settings folders across.
Well, that’s 30 minutes I won’t get back. When I finally found the real 8.0 prefs and copied them over, all was back to normal. Whew. But honestly, this should have been handled by the installer/program itself in a more streamlined manner.
More worrying was that 8.5 sounded impossibly thin and nasty – until I noticed a denoising plugin from the last session skulking about in the master section. I guess that’s the peril of actually managing to transfer the old preferences 
FWIW, the update itself looks really good.
