When I change the font size of the Work Number (First Page), it changes appropriately on the score. But when I change the font size of just Work Number, it remains the same. It’s actual text in the file below is Project Name, and Project Name on page 2 won’t change size, even though its signpost reads as projectworknumber, just like the corresponding signpost on page 1.
Project Name After 1st Page.dorico (1.4 MB)
@MusiComPublishing If you edit the settings in the template you are not editing the Paragraph Style default settings (that are saved in the Library/Paragraph Styles…) but only the local appearance. The pages after the first page use the Default page template. The settings for First page template and Default page template are independent and need to be set independently: you need to edit the Default page template and set the font size also there: all the subsequent pages (that use Default page template) will be as you desire:

Okay. Thanks. This is confusing. I was originally editing the font sizes in the menu:
Library > Paragraph Styles…
Was that the wrong place to do that?
Anyway, now I edited the Work Number font size directly on page 2 of the score, using that popup editor in your screenshot. The size did change correctly, but now I’ve got that little red triangle at the top left of the Page 2 graphic in Engrave Mode > Pages area. Is that supposed to remain?
I am not following: I don’t see [EDIT: in the default Dorico’s Paragraph Styles] any Paragraph Style named “Work Number”. Did you create one yourself?
You have to edit the template, not the layout itself. Remove the override, then double click on the Default page template miniature and edit the token/s in this template as desired, for both left and right page, apply and close.

If I look at the piece of text you’re talking about, on the Default Page Template, in the Page Template Editor, I can see that that piece of text is using the Header (Right) Paragraph Style on left pages and the Header (Left) Paragraph Style on right pages.
Either you need to edit those Paragraph Styles (in Libary > Paragraph Styles), rather than Work Number, or in the Page Template Editor you need to set those pieces of text to use the Work Number Paragraph Style and then edit that Paragraph Style in Library > Paragraph Styles.

I guess the Work Number paragraph styles came with the 3rd party template I’m working from.
I see. Then you can follow @pianoleo s suggestion.
(but you have to remove the overrides)

Thanks. Between you and Christian_R, I seem to have it sorted. Kind of confusing working out this labyrinth of new concepts after so long on Sibelius and only just beginning Dorico a few weeks ago.

Yes it can be intimidating at the beginning. I suggest you try and exercise on fresh projects, and try all the possibilities (when you have time and no deadlines
). Look at the wonderful videos on the YT channel, read the manual for the specific things that you are learning (is a wonderful reference), and ask in the Forum. You will see soon how powerful, logical, consistent and fast is working with Dorico.
