I recently hit a snag with the Spitfire Solo Strings instrument. For some inexplicable reason, Spitfire elected not to provide samples for violin harmonics below Eb6. As a result, for these ‘low’ harmonics nothing plays back because Dorico has no idea what range the VST supports and can only assume the VST can handle any particular note. Is there a workaround for this using current expression map facilities? Or do we need a ‘range’ condition so that playback falls back to some other patch that at least sounds, even if it is the wrong technique? E.g. use natural if the note is outside the range that the harmonic patch supports.

Unfortunately there’s no way of doing this at the moment.
