Working in 88.2 / 32 bit ? [ Solved ]

Hi all

I’m a Cubase user for over 15 years now.

The latest version 7 seems unable to work properly with large projects > say more than 50 stereo tracks…

I simply cannot wait longer untill it’s fixed and other power users seem to have the same issue.

Is Nuendo able to run large projects in 88.2 / 32 bit with video without issues ?

Thx

MBR

I have been able to do so.

Chewy

is it a drive issue? or a cpu issue?

drive !

well u have 2 options…try to kick up the preload buffer …or use ssd drives…before n65 i was using 2 ssd’s in raid 0 for speed …i was hitting like 1 gb sec transfer rate .i did a track test recorded 800 tracks at 44.1khz at once…then ver 65 was way more drive efficient i was tracking on a single sata 6 drive with no drive issues …now i just installed 2 of the seagate hybrid drives in raid0 and hitting like 600 mb per sec…and only use the ssd’s raid for very large projects with hd video playing…but try the preload…to 6 sec…it will slow down start and stop but will stream much better…the 800 tracks was at 2 sec preload

thank for the preload tip !!!

I just ordered 2 X 1 TB SSD’s :ugeek:

what is really weird is that 100 tracks in 44.1 is NOT the same as 50 tracks in 88.2…as far as I can tell.

also I could run 88.2 / 32 bit easily in previous Cubase versions.

here is my system specs:

I will easily change to Nuendo But I’m afraid a Nuendo upgrade later will cause the same issue as the latest Cubase version.

anyways > I await my SSD drives and will report back when it’s up and running

how much were the 1tb ssd’s? u can run them in a software raid or hardware raid 0 or stripping raid if ur motherboard supports it…it will double ur thru put …my ssd’s are hitting 1gb a sec but they are only 2x 256gb’s

Run SSD’s now for recording and sample streaming. Works very well in high sample rate and bit rate ( large projects )

about $ 2000 USD for the 2

not in RAID0 at the moment
