hey guys is there a way to write all the key & bpm of the files and have them show in media bay so that I can filter it by key? ive tried using mixed in key & traktor but the file stays the same inside cubase and doesnt show the BPM or Key its in inside media bay.
On my end, I can write either a key or a tempo value of a given .wav file, but doing so in the Pool window. The values typed in it will immediatly be visible in MediaBay, without any need for a rescan.
Media Bay doesn’t detect tempo or key, and never has, you need to enter those in yourself. If the files are tagged properly, it should read them just fine.
so lets say i manually add all the tempo & key tags inside media bay, does it write that information inside the file?
so for example I get a new laptop and copy paste the files over to the new laptop, will the new cubase in the new laptop read those tags that i spent hours on doing?
Yeah Media Bay writes everything to metadata in the file. I cant count how many times I’ve wiped out my entire MediaBay installation and reinstalled it, I still have files I tagged 4 years ago showing tempo and key…
If the files themselves were tagged properly, Media Bay should be picking some of those up but it seems hit or miss. I have a few Zero-G sample packs in WAV format from when they started adding ACID metadata and turning them into Kontakt libraries. The ACID files all show tempo and key as they came. But my AMG 160db library I bought 20+ years ago is an old ‘Apple Loops’ release that does not.
What about this scenario:
Lets say inside media bay i change the meta info, then in mixed in key i get it to change the name of the files to show key & BPM. So a previously named file of test.mp3 is now test-120bpm-F#.mp3.
Would media bay still pickup the meta info previously saved?
