XML export of project info

When exporting Dorico-files to xml most of my project info is not translated.
I understand from former forum items that this is a wish for the future.
So my question for this moment is: which items from project info will be translated?
Then I may use these.
In the example I made a project template with tokens which are not translated…
I am afraid only the title is left.

Does your project contain tuplets? These sometimes abort a transfer without warning.

Hello Derrek, no, in most melodies are no tuplets.

I suspect Dorico from using another template instead of my original one when I load the xml-file back into Dorico, but I am not sure about that. But loading the xml-file in Finale gives the same result.

If you inspect your xml file (in a text editor), you will see that all your project information is actually included. The problem is with the import. Apart from the Title, Dorico seems to convert project info to Flow info, or just ignores it! (xml transfer is still an imperfect system)

Hello Janus, and other musicians,

Yes indeed, most of the info is included in the xml-file, but I am afraid not all of it.
In the example the upper left text is copied, under the credit types ‘Dedication’ (=C-instr) and ‘Composer’ (=WR). The xml-file does not mention the credit type ‘Work number’ (=20250904) but nevertheless combines these three like I made the template in ‘C-instr. - WR - 20250904’ — so that is rather good translated.
In the xml-file also are Title (=Alter Zhok) and Subtitle (=klezmer).
But ‘other information’ from the projec info (=J. Engel Ethnografic Expedition 1912 - Vernadsky National Library) is not translated to the xml-file.

Finale imports all credits from the xml-file like this:

And Dorico like this:

So in Dorico only the title returns, and it seems to expect ‘Project Lyricist’ and ‘Composer’.
But: in the XML-file is the credit type ‘Composer’ available, and not used at import.

So: where might I put information in Project Info, to have the best change of recognition in other programs?

Thank you very much!

After two days it seems that other colleagues cannot add solutions.
I do understand how difficult this may be.

So I close the discussion, thanking Janus and Derrek for their contributions. And hope that in the near future xml-export and -import may develop in all programs.
