When importing into Dorico, there always the small measures at the end of the file. Why is this happening, and how to I fix it, or better yet stop it from happening? See attached file.

XML imports can be a big surprise.
There are 16 empty bars at the end with hidden rests.
Delete the bars with SHIFT B-16.

Is it different if you choose File→Open instead of import? Also, untick almost every option under Preferences→MusicXML to let Dorico do its thing before you open/import the XML. Personally, I only have Text items ticked.
