XML import - "failed to parse file" error messaging

Hi here, I need assistance with importing an XML file.

Details:

  • Importing XML onto Windows 11 Cubase Pro 10.5
  • The export comes from Mac Cubase Pro 12

Steps:

  1. Created a new project
  2. Selected File > Import > MusicXML
  3. Selected XML file (there are hyphens “-”, spaces " ", and numbers “123” in the file name)
  4. Ensured in the dropdown menu it is set to XML file > Open
  5. In the popup, Select Project Folder > folder selected > Select folder
  6. Receive error message “Failed to parse the file.”

Can someone from this community or Support please assist me?
