Yamaha CC1: Please create a new Category for this unit

Is it possible to create a dedicated group here for Yamaha CC1?

For your information, I sent the following message to Yamaha Music Europe GmbH today:

I recently purchased the Yamaha CC1 and am using it on a MacBook Pro M1 Max running macOS 26.2, and I have a few questions:

Q1:
How can I avoid having to answer this question from Elgato Stream Deck several times a day?:
Do you trust “ControlCenter”?

Is there a way to configure the system so that this prompt does not appear repeatedly?

Q2:
Where online would it be appropriate to communicate with:
• The official Yamaha support site for the CC1 product
• Other CC1 users

Thank you in advance for your help.

Good idea. I should be under ‘Hardware’ (for the moment still ‘Steinberg Hardware’), as the Steinberg Hardware is now Yamaha branded.

I have received this answer from Yamaha Europe:

We have forwarded your enquiry to the relevant persons in Japan. We will get back to you as soon as your questions have been answered.

@Hansa

I second your proposal, experiencing the same repeating and unnerving security question.

And while I like my new CC1 a lot, I also have more questions, neither covered in the manual nor in (so far mostly missing) online tutorials.

This will be interesting seeing as “Steinberg” went to the trouble of announcing an exit from the hardware business ( even though it was Yamaha all along…). So having a “Yamaha” section in the forum might be seen as inappropriate, since then we’d have to have discussions for other for other Yamaha hardware?

There’s an official Yamaha Synth forum - https://yamahasynth.com

and an independent “Yamaha” forum - https://yamahamusicians.com

Maybe useful?

It’s Yamaha being Yamaha….

In theory, you’re right.

But I just like you guys on this forum so much, why leave?

After all, it got advertised mainly as a controller for Cubendo.

Of course this is a Yamaha/Elgato issue but I too am super tired of the repeated “Do you trust “ControlCenter”?” messages. Going to try and send the issue to Yamaha and Elgato

I have been in contact with Yamaha Europe, who in turn contacted the responsible team in Japan. Yamaha Europe has been quick to respond to me along the way while waiting for a reply from Japan. If they - or I - do not receive a response from Japan within a week, I will proceed further within the Yamaha system.

After ditching the Nuage this is what they come up with? Not worth the time and effort….

Installing the latest update for Stream Deck has removed the annoying pop-up “Do you trust “ControlCenter”.

Hi,
I get the CC1 but even with the 1.2.1 update, the software seems only 50% finished, kind of beta version. Links in the console fail on non existing web pages and I can’t find any documentation on the very poor Cubase section ??
I am not an Elagato stream deck user and not familiar with the usual commands and processes.
Two buttons on the controller allow to navigate ‘horizontally’ between ‘pages’, but I was expecting to be able to create hierachies/trees of pages and navigate ‘vertically’ ??
Is it something I could expect sooner or later for this device ?

With the latest version, you can choose which DAW it should be active for at any given time. Click on the image of the device, and you can then enable this by checking the box.

You can create multiple buttons and folders. I recommend familiarizing yourself with the Stream Deck software.

Thanks, but these are basic concepts
I would expect to be able to create new buttons on the Cubase side, with better icons than the actual grey ones.
And I would expect to create buttons acting as folders links, opening new pages.
And in these new Cubase pages to have buttons to move back to the calling page.

Again, curiously there are 2 physical buttons to navigate horizontaly between pages, but no one to ‘pop up the stack’ and go back on the calling upper page ??? And no function to adapt an icon to this task ?
This last feature is a basic streamdeck one, but not available in the Cubase side.

And this idea of listing the Cubase pages under a Cubase Menu on the control app is strange : will we be limited to this very limited and small number of Cubase features ??

Regarding the pages and buttons Yamaha has created, you are correct - that it is not possible to change their layout. But let’s hope they do something about it in the near future.

If you only activate “Cubase” and “Cubase > Stream Deck Link”, you will be able to build the buttons exactly the way you want. You can also manually create the same buttons that Yamaha has on their Stream Deck pages.

Have you tried some Cubase presets available on the streamdeck side ?

There are already three threads here in this forum:
