Cubase team,
Please add templates in cubase to edit/create styles (.sty), pads (.pad) files for various version of Yamaha arranger keyboards.
Basically these are midi files. If i import these files as MIDI, i can properly see the midi data and even edit it, but the saving part messes it up.
Please add this feature to cubase.
Thank you
Since Cubase is now owned by Yamaha, i think you guys can integrate this feature into cubase.
Hi,
It’s some time ago, when I tied to play with this.
When you edit MIDI data (*.sty) in Cubase, you have to be carefull with some specific data in the file. They are critical for the style. I forgot, if it was SysEx, SMF, or NRPN data (sorry).
Today, I would recommend you to explore the MIDI Song to Style application by Yamaha. I believe, you can import *.sty file instead of MIDI. If not, I believe, you can just rename your *.sty sile to *.mid file and import it.
Or you can import the .sty/.mid file to Cubase and make the edits. Then you can export it as *.mid and import this *.mid to the MIDI Song to Style application and do the style-relevant edits.
I hope this helps.
Thanks for that information. Majority of the stuff i was looking for worked with that, but sill need to test more.
Some limitations found are:
- I don’t see option to edit midi notes in that tool.
- I don’t see an option to create audio drums (for audio style)
Hi,
Oh yes, you are right. Then Cubase is the perfect joice to do this.
There is not. As the title says, it’s caring just about MIDI.
Do you have the email of the Yamaha team which developed the “MIDI Song to Style” software, so I could email them about adding some features to it.
Hi,
Sorry, I don’t.
Try to use official Yamaha support to pass it over.
