We are pleased to announce the release of a new version of the Yamaha Steinberg USB driver for Mac.
The driver ensures compatibility of macOS Monterey with all UR-C interfaces, some UR models and the AXR4U and solves some minor problems.
The tests for the remaining devices are still ongoing (this will be reflected in the compatibility charts we have online). The complete list of currently compatible devices is:
CI1 / UR12 / UR22 / UR22mkII / UR22C / UR44C / UR816C / UR24C / AXR4U

Hi there, I am glad to know Monterrey is now compatible with my UR22C (thanks for the hard work), however I haven’t been able to make it work.
I uninstall drivers, install latest version of TOOLs (with Rosetta 2 active and the security policy unlock) and then installed the 3.1.1 drivers (unblocking the security & policy step) as explained in your webpage document (…helpcenter.steinberg.de/hc/en-us/articles/360020574899-Yamaha-Steinberg-USB-Driver-installation-on-an-Apple-silicon-based-Mac) but still my UR22C is not recognized by the macbook.
I have tried several times already, thinking i skipped a step but same result.
Do you have any advice?

Hello,i have the same problem with macos Monterey 12.2 have tried several times already and doesn’t work,so in this case what I have to do more?Maybe in this case the driver compatibility is not right I don t know what to say.

I also have the same issues both DSP or driver do not load properly.
I have performed the same tasks x4 as set out in the installation advice re tool then latest driver but the end result is the same…this does not work?
I have spent alot of money with Steinberg over the years and really am not impressed with this situation.
I believe the internal audio on the macbook is better than the hardware UR22C because it functions are the same…no DSP means less function no driver means unable to change bit and sample rates??
Sorry but I have a Mac M1 with OS Monterey 12.3.1 and a new UR 816C and tools don’t work I don’t understand. I Have download all the new version but dspmixfx tell “noodevice found”. Can you help me please?

I have installed the aforementioned driver on my MacBook Air M1, but when I connect the Steinberg ur22 mkII, the audio is crackling and dropping out. (The ur22 mkII is recognised by the mac). Any idea how to solve this problem?
My Macbook Air M2 keeps on crashing whenever it gets out of sleep mode. Thanks to the Yamaha driver. Running Steinberg UR22 mkII. What’s going on?
First with v3.1.1. and after the update, today i’s still happening with v3.1.3.
Does anyone else feel it unacceptable to have to boot into recovery mode to disable a security feature to install the Mac OS driver? No other device manufacturer requires you to jump through these extra steps so they don’t have to write functional code. Also the pdf instructions no longer match the layout of the recovery console so you’re selecting options with potentially serious consequences blind. I’m personally not prepared to do it. I feel like someone at Steinberg said " Hey let’s see if we can get away with this" and I for one am ditching my UR22C which is otherwise brilliant and buying something else from a company that puts proper resources into driver support. Last Steinberg/Yamaha product I will ever buy.
What about macOS Sonoma 14.7 on which not accepting UR22 / UR22C since I tried through the Steinberg protocol 05/05/2024.
