Yamaha VST Rack element 2.0 - App authorized, included plugins not authorized

Hi, I recently bought an amazing Yamaha DM3-D that included the SVT Rack and some 11 or so plugins. The VST Rack application is correctly activated, and runs. The included Yamaha plugins, are not authorized properly. I did reach out to Yamaha with a support ticket, howver since this license is being handled by Steinberg, I am also reaching out here to see if anyone can help.

Running Macbook Pro M2 Pro OSX 15.2 Sequoia, VST Rack Elements/Pro version 2.0.0 (latest).

Thank you, and Happy Holidays.

Solved. Yamaha Tech support explained which plug ins are actually included, and asked that I delete the ones that were not part of my included bundle. I wish there were either a proper installer that did not include plug ins we do not own, or the option to select what bundle to install. That, and Documentation. I could not find the list the Tech support provided, listing which plug ins are included in VST Rack Elements and Pro.

Now, to wait until they make VST Rack Elements / Pro fully compatible with Mac OSX 15.2 Sequoia. Fun times!

Funny, I googled it with exactly that phrase, and the first answer was this page:

But the summary on Google already answered that only 6 Plugins were included in Elements.

Oh well. It did not appear for me when I searched it. Thanks.

PS it is more than 6 plugins. It is the 6 Steinberg ones and 3 different Yamaha REV reverbs.

In any case, Merry Christmas!

Hi,
I’m looking to buy a DM3 console and have few questions about VST Rack. How do you find it after some use?

Can you load any VST3 plugins or it is limited to the included ones?

Thanks

TBH, the above link leads to the product page, the first section says that you can use your favorite VST plugins.

Hi m,
You can use any VST plugins compatible with your computer and DAW.

I am on a Silicon M2 mac so it is buggy for me. Have VST Rack 1.5 and the new VST Rack 2.0 If you have a different, fully compatible computer, you should be fine.

VST rack gives you plugin slots like 10 per channel, and for the Yamaha DM3 it is for all 16 channels plus one Stereo mix bus. It saves the session on the computer and it has to be open and running to use.

Is it THAT buggy? Does it prevent you to use it? I will use a M2 Max Macbook Pro, I hope it’s not that bad…

I just ordered the console, I’m eager to configure and play with it.

It is really buggy. You can open it, put a few plug ins in but after about 5 minutes it freezes up. They should have an update hopefully soon. This is a Yamaha product so no real support here in Steinberg Land.

Oh, that’s a shame, it seems to offer so much possibilities. Let’s hope Yamaha will improve it.

Thanks a lot for your input !
