dont think this is an issue/bug but not quite working as i would expect.
just trying out ‘Zoom Mem’ and ‘Zoom zap’ and ‘mem’ seems to also remember the cursor position? so when you press ‘zap’ it also jumps you to that cursor position
is that how its supposed to work or is something a miss on my system? be nice if it just moved through the different zoom states and didn’t effect the play position, like every other zoom function as far as i know.
yes, this is exactly how Zoom Mem and Zoom Zap are supposed to work:
Zoom Mem memorizes a particular zoom level (both horizontally and vertically) including its current position in the track. You can now move through your project and zoom in/out like you need to.
Zoom Zap will take you back to this particular position and zoom constellation saved with Zoom Mem.
Here’s a video about these functions (introduced in Cubase 7)
There are also key commands for Redo Zoom and Undo Zoom. This is the closest you get to skipping through different zoom levels unrelated to previous cursor positions.
yeah thought as much.. just seems a little odd to me.
why link a zoom state to transport?
im sure some people find a use for it but id prefer to zoom about the project without this changing the playhead position…there’s plenty of other options for controlling transport.
Yeah, each to their own.
Nonetheless, these functions come with distinctive benefits. Depending on your workflow/project, they can be quite useful IMO.
