32bit float from Cubase issue

Using Wavelab Elements 9
When I do a “edit in Wavelab” from the audio menu in Cubase 8.5.15, and the audio is in 32bit float.
The imported audio is at +770 dB
If I do a render In Place on the file/track in Cubase before and make it 24bit, all is well.
