I installed 3.8 today with 2 new piano instruments and it seems to have had a detrimental effect on my set up. when using the mouse to drag faders and dials around it simply no longer works, works fine on the android device touch screen and only this mouse function is affected, the mouse otherwise works fine in cubasis to click and select only the mouse click+drag functions seem to be affected.
Have tried 2 different mice, cleared app cache, restarted, nothing works
Was almost finished a project I spent countless hours on too
It sucks when people buy these things in good faith only to find out it hasnât been tested properly. What gives?
Nope still the same, have now tried with a docking station , 2 different usb mice and a bluetooth mouse, same issue occurs looks like a possible software bug is affecting all mouse drag functions in the arrangement window also
I do have the same problem on my chromebook. I can click and select, but as soon as I want to use faders, nothing happens. Closed Cubasis multiple times and turned off and on the chromebook just as many times, launched an empty project. Nothing. What else can I do? I have unfinished projects that need finishingâŚ
@LSlowak do we have any update please? The whole âswitch it off and on againâ recommendatuon does not seem to be a valid approach, particularly when multiple users are reporting the same issue
Hi @LSlowak I updated to the latest version and i can confirm the issue persists, no change. not sure why the steinberg QA team thought it was ok to distribute this tbh
@LSlowak as my previous comment was moderated - Is anyone going to address the actual software bugs though?
Please dont release train wrecks of an update like this, have people pay for the privilege then expect everyone to be all happy and thankful about it, just insulting
Thank you for not backing down from this BS. The way theyâre handling this is barely acceptable, and only so because of the uproar weâve made.
Just running around marking problems as solved without input from users the tip of the iceberg on here. Pushed an update! Must have fixed ALL THE PROBLEMS huh? This is a joke.
Cubasis 3.8.1 has resolved the most critical user-reported issues, as detailed in this topic:
We are now collecting reports for issues to be addressed in Cubasis 3.8.2. While I fully understand your frustration, please note that we cannot resolve any problems without detailed information that allows us to reproduce them.
Constructive feedback with clear steps is essential for us to help.
Detailed information?! No mouse drag function and you need more detail?! A decent software development team should do all of this BEFORE a release not after
Q how many stienberg devs does is take to change a light bulb?
A (Stienberg devs) could you provide a detailed account of how dark it is by quoting the the exact reduction in lumens please?
Not just one guy having the same issue either, no option to roll back, just 2 generic sounding piono plug-ins (which literally no-one needed), a lighter wallet and projects on the back burner
The problem is that it was said that the mouse problem would be fixed in the 3.8.1 update and when the update came, it wasnt fixed..
Do understand that when you roll out an update (3.8.0) just before the holidays and people are excited to spend their holiday using the app and it isnt fixed throughout the holidays people get frustrated.. letâs not pretend that cubasis (+ inapps) is a cheap app. M&K worked fine prior to 3.8.0.. politeness only goes far.
Now, one can argue that you can get by thru using the touchscreen (not really valid when you offer M&K support) and one can argue that cubasis is build for touchscreens, which is also invalid since cubasis is sold and advertised (also) for chromebooks and not every chromebook has a touchscreen.
So people get frustrated and people just want what they payed for.. especially when itâs a product from a company with a high reputation like steinberg..
If you have only have a shortterm refund policy and you mess up the app with an update then itâs not the obligation of the customer/user to beg politely for a fix.. it is not the customer who screwed things up.. they could have planned the update way before the holidays so they would have plenty of time to iron out bugs that would occur with the update. Itâs they that chose to roll out the update so close to christmass, while they know that they take a break during the holidays.
Side note on a broader scale: âworkaroundsâ are not a âproblem solvedâ status.. they still need to be fixed, especially when they were working fine in 3.7.5.. also with every OS version update, the OS makes changes in their UI and if that causes problems in the cubasis UI adjustments need to be made and you cannot rely on workarounds (by disabling features in the OS UI). Smart devices are used for multiple purposes and they cant expect to setup devices solely dedicated to the cubasis UI.
I totally understand what the problem is and I donât disagree with the points you make. I just donât see any need for adults to express themselves in an impolite or rude manner. Thatâs all I was commenting on.
Is it not rude to take peopleâs money and deliver a downgrade though?! Politeness surely goes out the window and the gloves are off at this point? Deliver something which works and maybe then I will grow up but not before lol
@CJ_Monster agreed! I had totally pimped up my studio in time for the holidays too! having already released 4 tracks on versions up to 3.7 never expected something as fundamental as M&K to be overlooked. Annoyed would be an understatement lol
