My Korg 01W-Pro synth has a military like drum roll and stop sample in its basic sound library. When I tried to use it to trigger a snare in my Superior Drum 3 library, I only got 2 hits (one that should have been the roll and the roll stop).
I know how to program a roll from scratch. But they never sound real ( too robotic). So, I’m wondering if there’s a library that offers drum rolls.
Can anyone here suggest one?

You can do that with any pad in Groove Agent. There’s a specific function assigned to do rolls of all kinds. It only takes a second and they sound good to me.

Good Grief! This GUI is not even remotely intuitive!
Every time I try to load a regular kit, I keep ending up with nothing but patterns, which obviously, is not going to give me the roll option in the Edit section.
I guess I’llhave to watch o bunch of tutorials first. Funny thing. Every tutorial I’ve seen so far starts with “This GUI is horrible! Not at all intutitive!”
EastWest Symphonic Orchestra has some rolls in the Symphonic Percussion for orchestral work. I also use 8Dio Epic Toms Ensemble and BFD Marching Drums

If you look at the pad section to the left - you can switch between pad and pattern mode above the pad section. Pick a single pad (a tom, snare etc) and you can assign a roll to this sound. It’s best to copy that pad to a free spot, first. This way you have both sounds at your disposal (with/without roll).
TBH, it’s a drag to fight your way through GA’s manual. Once you get there, GA is actually quite good.
I watched the “One Man and His Songs” GA tutorial on Youtube. Time consuming but you’ll understand GA afterwards (make notes).. I did it bit by bit over the course of a few weeks. Not really fun, though…
I’d rather do my own and use the LE to randomise the velocities and positions of the hits by just a little.
Been there, done that. The amount of editing, between timing and velocity was torturously long and it still sounded mechanical.
I have an electronic kit. I can have a drummer come over and play the rolls into the system. I guess that’s what I’m really looking for now, DRUM ROLL MIDI DATA that can be used to trigger any of my percussion samples.
If you want the note repeat onboard the plugin, there is Scaler Music’s DC Snares.
There’s a bunch of MIDI rudiments somewhere but I don’t remember where. You could get a pack of pre made drum rudiment MIDI files which will include flams and rolls.
There’s a bunch of euclidean rhythm modules now. Cubase has a new one. Kontakt 8 has one in its tools.
HY-Plugins makes some killer MIDI generators. If you put a snare on some of these tools you can go crazy.
Or if you have a microphone you could probably drum something on your desk and convert the audio to MIDI.
