Beat calculator missing in version 13?

Is it true that Cubase 13 got rid of the beat calculator that was available in version 12? If so, that would be a faux paux. I’ve gotten good at straightening out tempo using the Dom method.

Yes, I know there have been various other threads on this topic. But they have all ben closed with a notice of resolved. I beg to differ, this has not been resolved at all, ignored would be more accurate. I downloaded the latest update but no difference at all, it’s still not there. The notion that tap tempo replaces the useful beat calculator function is laughable, it’s virtually impossible to get a truly accurate tempo of a sample of section of music in this way. Where has beat calculator gone?

No that would mean the tempo is correct as is (ie the clip and the selection are the same length) this is what i was missing, your selection in the arranger needs to be the expected length in bars and beats, then make sure you’ve got the clip you’re basing it off selected (you’ll have to split it unfortunately but thats ok) then to set tempo from event.

I’ve concluded another reason everyone might like to consider… I think Steinberg HQ believe the feature is already available elsewhere (Definition Tab in the Audio Editor Inspector). Thus, having Beat Calculator was simply duplication of existing mechanisms… Primary aim was to update ‘Tap Tempo’ tool; unfortunately, that’s where the Beat Calculator lived (UI) and so a decision made to remove it entirely.
