Something I really liked in Reaper is the fact you can easily tap the tempo in the transport bar, I really would love this to be in Cubase as well, right now you need to do way too much clicks and open/close windows to obtain the same result with beat calculator.

If it is made possible in the transport bar it would be nice if it were also possible in the top toolbar. Ultimately I would like to be able to remove the transport bar from my screen entirely, but it still has functions in it like project tempo that are not available in the top toolbar.
+1 but only if available in the top toolbar like Greg Houston suggested. All transport features should be available in the top toolbar as suggested here:
