It gets weirder here in v5.1.81 (presumably no issue in v6), if in Layout options>Vertical spacing I switch staff visibility hide empty staves to ‘never’, things become more inconsistent e.g. on last page Horn staves do appear on last page as A and E condensed staves, despite having changed instruments to F and D so no notes displaying where they occur in bar 147. Then if condensing switched off, horn staves disappear altogether. It’s wonderfully unpredictable if you’re into that sort of thing…
