Broken/Unintended Drag and Drop Swap of MIDI Sends

I think this probably more a unintended GUI glitch than an intended feature not working, as such functionality doesn’t seem to be available in the inner left zone Inspector

Left Zone outer “broken function”

left zone inner no function

I’m actually pretty confused about what is intended here.

Dragging and Dropping doesn’t swap it replaces,

but it only partially replaces - it replaces the send insert plugin, but not Port Selection or MIDI Channel

and for some reason it enables the send…

and then Inspect/Inner left zone, you can’t do any dragging/dropping of sends.

The outer zone is called Channel. I see people also calling it Channel View.
Just in case you were wondering.

I guess I just find it kind of confusing… like in my head… channel doesn’t correspond to how I want to set up channel, and inspector doesn’t correspond to how and what I want to inspect…

The short version is, for audio a channel is a child object of a track. There are tracks without a channel but there is never a channel without a track*.
The Channel view was created so that you can see and edit properties of the channel. The Inspector is the place where you can see and edit track properties. Although it allows to see channel properties as well.

*) There is one channel without a track - the preview channel.
