C 13 Crashes on shutdown

I am getting a cascade of Serious problem windows when I close C13. I don’t think I lose any info and I have boot up C13 in safe mode. Not quire sure what is happening?

Then Delete Cubase Preferences would fix it.

Martin I wonder if before I trash the prefs could you look at this crash dump?

I’m sorry, I don’t see anything, you could try to go around, but trying to delete all Cubase version preferences.

Cubase Preferences folders are:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
Win: %appData% Steinberg/Cubase X_64

The removal of the user prefs did not resolve the issue I am afraid. Thanks for your interest.
Although I think I have located the issue. I was getting a small window saying some UAD plugins (2.4) had been disable because there was not enough memory despite only using a third of the available DSP memory. I disabled the cards and all the plugins. No crash!!! This was a very old project I had resumed work on.

Also another issue… This project cannot be saved to the project assistant. There must be something wrong with the project, but for the life of me I can’t imagine what that is.

Hi,

If Cubase crashes on Quit, it doesn’t store the preferences correctly. So neither the Recent projects are stored.

Thank you Martin a font of knowledge as usual. Luckily the projects were saved so it could be worse.

I think I spoke too soon. a new project and I close it down. Ctrl + S and Ctrl + Q I then get the cascade of warning windows and I then have to close by Ctrl Alt and Delete.

I have trashed prefs and this has not worked. Given how many reports there have been of crashes suggests deeper issues. Luckily for me it is only an issue when I close down. Saving still works!

I have gone into AppData/Roaming/Steinberg and I can’t see the Crash Dump folder. Any ideas. Thank you.

One thing I have noticed is that if I just save then shut down the project window Cubase closes without any fuss. It seems to only happen if I Ctrl and Quit.

Although I still get asked if I want to open in safe mode???
