Can anyone reproduce this excerpt?

Hello all,

I’m trying to reproduce this from “Madama Butterfly”. I can easily do the tuplet thing, but try as I may, they come up as dotted quartet group in pairs instead of the dotted 8th notes in the original score once I activate the tremolo. I’ve tried several things but I can’t seem to get what I see in the example. While it’s not a huge deal, I do find that dotted 8th notes read better. Is there a setting I’m missing? Do I require more coffee?

Notating Fingered Tremolo's (8th notes)

Hi All, I’m trying to notate some fingered tremolos in 8th notes in 3/4 time. I enter two 8th notes, then select both and click the “two strokes multi-note tremolo” from the menu. The result looks like two quarter notes with two dashes in between. This is clearly wrong - it should be two 8th notes with two dashes in between. The result is the same even if I force duration on the 8ths. How do I get the correct result?

Note that Puccini writes black noteheads. So if you don’t want half-noteheads (the modern equivalent), you have a slightly trickier workaround. Follow these directions from last month.
