I got a fully loaded Apple Pro to work with my N12, I ordered the longest Thunderbolt cable Vintage Kings has, 3-meter. I think it will be enough to reach my new converter but in case can Thunderbolt cables be extended? Thanks - …s
The odds that a 3m TB cable will work are not so great to start with.
What version of TB are you using ? (2,3,4?)
What model/generation exactly of Mac?
What device model is at the other end?
The manual of your Mac and/or your “new converter” might give you valuable guidelines.
I just ordered the biggest Mac they could give me (below)
Worst case is I will move the computer next to the a/d d/a and run long monitor cables.
How will I know if I have a Thunderbolt problem?

You have two choices:
-
Owens Corning Thunderbolt 3 optical cable. 16 to 164 feet. Prices starting around $360. (!)
-
Use a Thunderbolt hub to connect your two cables. Should work. (?)
^^^ Main reason I’m still holding onto my legacy Firewire interfaces. Crankin’ the Atmos with 16’ of Firewire 400 cable, baby!
is 3 meters of copper too long - now i’m worried - thinking of moving the mac closer to the converter…
