Will be interesting to hear if it’s able to follow on-screen track selection without additional workarounds.

Looks like it should be able to do that: Yamaha CC1 (English video)
This would be a good time for them to also let users know if there are 8-channel versions on the way. One would hope there would be.
No Track name Display! For this to be any good, I would have thought it would need to have a display of selected values (Track/Level/pan etc). Looks like its based around Streamdeck so not sure of the configurability regarding this. If they are to make a multi channel……the Softube Fader mk3 is definitely the competition. It seems lacking. Even the old relic Frontier Alphatrack had a value readout display.
Funny video. The selling point is that it is easy to setup? Nothing about what it can do?
Looks like the CMCs and the CMC121 had a baby!

I hope that it is much more than that! A 8x extender and a monitor controller in the same form factor would be nice.
Its a good start, I just need six more
Seven faders? What an odd number.
I don’t see the intended use of this small thingy to work without a monitor. As long as the selection is clearly marked on the screen and the touched parameters show their values there, too, I would be fine without yet another display. ![]()
It would be great to have the same version, but without the screens and with 8 knobs instead
“small thingy” :-).
I suppose, but a small scribble strip type readout just helps when ‘not’ looking at a main monitor or a laptop screen. It might sell well.
Why it is named as controlling only Modulation:-) ? Also, I hope they have not made the mistake of using ‘rubberised’ finishes. Bio Degradation is a real problem.
I’ll get a unit for testing as soon as it’s actually available; I’ll let you know. ![]()
…I guess I was hoping for a more Cubase-focused follow-up, rather than this universal approach. What do we think?
I am very curious about the (yet to be announced, probably at NAMM) Yamaha CC1 control surface. They just posted a video with a slew of others on the Yamaha Global Youtube page.
I’m waiting for the arrival of my Nektar Panorama CS12 (because of course I am), but looking at the CC1 it seems like it combines some of the interface of a Stream Deck, has a motorized fader, and is quite compact. Very intriguing. Here is the product page.
So, the more I read about this, the more it seems aimed at “creators”, “streamers”, etc. I have a Stream Deck and it is very streamer-macro focused, although you can do a lot with Cubase with the buttons. I have a feeling I will enjoy my Nektar much more, but I may get one of these down the road.
I used a Nektar Panorama CS12 with Nuendo 14 and eventually had to return it. The concept is awesome. It was so nice having so much integration and control in a single controller. However, in practice it was very sluggish. The response time from clicking on a track to the CS12 updating the screen was 1-2 seconds which might not seem like but for a professional workflow, it was just too much. I know part of it has to do with the MIDI Remote because that’s what it uses. But I’m sure they could develop a “lite” version where you don’t have all the super deep functionality (much of which I would have never used) and it probably would be considerably faster. It was just too much to handle via MIDI Remote.
I had to just accept it and continue with my current setup SSL UF1 + Metagrid Pro on iPad + Stream Deck. I just ordered a CC1 and looking forward to trying it to see if it’s able to replace the UF1 + Stream Deck combo. Combining both into a single controller would be really nice.
I posted a short summary of my initial Nuendo-related impressions here.
