Closing Sampler Must Close Lower Zone If It Was Closed Before Opening

I don’t typically use the lower zone in my production workflow, and I prefer sticking to stock tools. However, this behavior is incredibly frustrating. Why do I have to close the zone twice? It takes up half the screen and makes the process so cumbersome.

Honestly, I’d rather use a VST sampler than deal with this annoyance in the default sampler. That said, Kontakt also has its issues in Cubase (see my other post for details). For example, I can’t drag and drop samples into Kontakt 7 from the arrangement view in Cubase 14.

The de facto industry standard audio sampler doesn’t work properly in Cubase, Carl!

Hi,

By pressing the button, you don’t close the Lower Zone, you just close the editor. You can use a button (or a Key Command) to close the Lower Zone (if you really want to close the Lower Zone).

Please, link it, if you want to mention it. On the other hand, I don’t see a link between this issue and the other one, so it doesn’t make sense to mess them.

Then maybe the devs should fix the fact that the sampler track can not be opened in a separate window? So I don’t open the lower zone and don’t close it afterwards twice.
