Is it possible to get the display in the Note Editor to look just like it does in the Chord Track? I want to see “C dim” written as “C dim” here and there—not “Cm(b5)” in the notation.
Noone with a musical education wants to see ‘Cm(b5)’ ever!
Technically speaking, Cdim would require a 7th while Cm(b5) is just a minor chord with a dimished 5th.
No, that would make it a Cdim7. Technically speaking. ![]()
Then it would be Cmb5b7.
sorry, that´s not correct
Cdim is a diminished triad C Eb Gb
Cdim7 is a seventh chord C Eb Gb Bbb
Cmb5 is not used for any chord
Funny discussion, but how do I actually make C Dim visible? ![]()
Go to Menu Score–> Engraving Settings–> Chord Symbol Presets.
Change “Default” to “Jazz Standards”:
Yeah !!! Thank you so much. Very interesting settings there.
I never would have believed it.

And that effects the Chord Track? Cool.
The chord track already shows Cdim, it affects how the chord is displayed in the score-editor.
