Result
The whole selected track and contents in the lower view is coloured as well as the selected marker track and vice versa…select a part in lower, with the marker tack selected and colour is applied to selected part AND track
Shouldnt the colour only be applied to selected parts first. If no parts selected then whole track?
I think is has always worked like that.
When you select only the track (without any part/event selected) it will color the track and its content.
When one or multiple parts/events are selected it will only color the selected content.
Isn’t that the behavior you describe in your result just above?
Am I missing something?
That is correct
BUT
You need to read that Im selecting a part in split view, in a marker track and its colouring a different track in a different part of the view.
I know that, I have tested it exactly like you did with the divided track list.
Thing is the two lists have independent selection, and in consequence many actions will affect both tracks. This is more like a flaw than an actual bug, and it is not limited to the Marker Track either.
Either way it breaks the behavioural expectation…ultimately a design flaw…much like how most of the tools work on parts except marker tracks…confuses users. Remove the tool option or notify the user with a tool tip…standard ux flow. (If its too resource hungry to fix immediately)
TBH I still dont have c12 working properly yet…for many months now…see my post re corrupted preferences and dmp file…no answers from tech support…cant be that hard…my system works fine with Live…so i dare not install v13 with the amount of time i have lost and cant take projects backwards.
Without making changes to managing the bloat/system of prefs files…its difficult to manage any sort of debug without a phd
I really would love to be focused on producing music than unpaid debug…literally days worth now
