I had similar issues for months and months on my recent build i7 12700K/64G/6TB SSD machine, trying everything mentioned in the various threads to resolve it: see e.g. post in DPC Latency problems
However as Timo00 says, over the past couple of months the recent Intel/Microsoft updates seem to have resolved almost all thread director issues, so I have disabled all the fixes I applied before and got better performance. It is IMPERATIVE to apply all updates IMH (and professional!) Opinion.
BUT! I have just installed a new 12GB graphics card (AMD 6700XT) to replace the inbuilt 12700K graphics because (1) I was having endless issues with Intel ARC and Sonarworks mutually crashing and (2) I wanted more video RAM to support 4 large monitors (and to play some games, cough). To my great surprise my audio performance in Cubase has improved notably since, I can drop to very much lower buffer sizes than with the built in video in use, for in-time overdubs with no audio problems and running 70 + tracks including a lot of VIs. This is not what I expected to happen at all. Is the onboard Intel GPU stealing too many bus cycles? I would have thought that impossible. What could it be?
Whatever, adding the AMD card has in MY case had a major effect. This may not work for others, I am just reporting my experience. I deliberately did not buy an nVidia card on this occasion due to the reported issues… Also, none of the new nVidia and AMD mid range releases are very tempting, hence the previous model at a keen price while there is stock…
