I own (2) licenses of Cubase Pro 11 and (2) Cubase Pro 12 update licenses
And I can’t get the Cubase Pro 12 update activations to “SEE” the Cubase Pro licenses on the e-licensers/USB dongles. Help.
Backstory: I used Cubase Pro 12 under the grace period I think when the servers were overwhelmed, but then never went back in to run the updaters and get my Cubase 11 Pro licenses somehow off of my USB dongles. And now I am in some black hole circular loop.
Can some licensing genius help me?
It all looks well here - active license shown of (1) of my Cubase Pro 11 licenses on a USB dongle:
So, I don’t know if this renders my paid updates pointless/useless and doesn’t allow those to even work - but I have looked thru all email and not getting this email sent. I did this same thing back last year and looked thru all folders, spam and never got one then either…
Ugh. So lucky this type of time waste rarely happens for me with Steinberg/Cubase…
Right @Scab_Pickens … thanks… but its like I never get the email with the WORKING activation info for that grace period 12 update… I didn’t in 2022 when I just remembered I tried this, and now again haven’t gotten the email or not yet…
I never verified something so I don’t know if that threw a wrench in things here or what, nor do I recall the timing of what happened first - did I get the grace period option or having to verify something first or what?!
Solution To complete the verification, please simply start the license activation again. These are the requirements:
The license you want to update/upgrade is being displayed by the eLicenser Control Center on your system. This means, it is stored in a Soft-eLicenser on the hard disk or on a connected USB-eLicenser.
Your new software has been successfully installed via the Steinberg Download Assistant. You have the Download Access Code for the update/upgrade at hand.
I just don’t get why my PAID Cubase 12 Pro update download access code/activations won’t work - its like the Grace Period free updates and not verifying in time has blocked my 11 Pro licenses from any further movement/progress here…
iirc, only one Steinberg-Licensing license (with 3 activations) is available per account. It’s been discussed on the forum, so you might be able to find the topic.
One solution would be to create a second account for the 2nd license.
Okay, I’m starting to have memories of a similar situation. As @steve posted here, it jogged my memory (my memory could use some more jogging, as well as some sprints at this point ).
I didn’t bother trying to search for my old post, but it’s here somewhere. I was in a situation where I was trying to get two Cubase Pro 12 licenses to be recognized by the new Steinberg Licensing. Not happening, I guess. I contacted support and received a timely response. Anyway, I’m not sure of the current situation. People like me (and you, from what I gather) who had basically duplicate licenses so the dongles could remain with a specific machine and not have to worry about transferring hardware and also have the ability to run the same software at the same time on two different machines, have been hung out to dry.
I ended up upgrading (crossgrading?) one of my licenses to Nuendo which still left a lingering “Grace Period Eligible” Cubase Pro 11 license.
The only happy outcome I can see from this situation is if my “leftover” grace period eligable license will really recieve an update to Cubase 13. Otherwise, I’m basically getting screwed out of the money that I spent on the second Cubase Pro license. Ugggh … I feel your pain.
