But it is.
If the current version is 12.0.1, then they probably meant the first patch which hasn’t been released yet. Unless the patch was just released?
Yes, it was just released.
Where the heck is the announcement? Did you check the release notes to see if it’s mentioned?
And also, did you re-run through the suggestions to resolve the problem? Maybe you need to do the suggested tweaks again?
Bruh.
It’s exactly where it should be: https://www.steinberg.net/cubase/release-notes/12/
There’s a “performance and stability” section, without any specific details.
And yes, of course I’ve tried all the scaling options under windows properties for the cubase executable, also turning hidpi mode on and off. Nothing helped.
I don’t need to check the release notes.
Well, I guess, just wait and see if other people with the problem have had it resolved with the update.
If not, maybe it didn’t make this update. poopies
you also need the latest fabfilter version.
…
haha
Oh man do I feel dumb
That was it, the latest FabFilter build (15 Feb 2022) combined with Cubase 12.0.10 finally fixes the issue. Thank you! Marking the topic as solved.
I feel happy for you to be able to use your preferred tools properly again. Happy music/sound making.

Hi guys, unfortunately 12.0.30 update seems to have broken FabFilter plugins again.
Every new added instance of resizable plugins (e.g. Pro-Q3, Pro-C2, Pro-L2, Saturn 2 etc.) grows in width with each new instance added. Re-opening plugin maintains the size. Please, find a demonstration with Pro-Q3 in the video attached.
Windows scaling at 125%, 1080p.
With 100% scaling (either via Windows settings, or -25% in Cubase settings) the issue is gone.
Thanks, @otro678 so much for posting this. I was just considering buying Pro Q3.
You used the word “again”, can you give a history please?
Thank you!
No problem! This thread is basically a history, haha. The issue with FabFilter plugins changing size on their own have appeared with Cubase 11, was fixed with Cubase 12.0.10 and FabFilter’s Feb 2022 update. And seems like it kinda re-introduced itself in 12.0.30.
P.S. Pro-Q3 is still a great tool, I use it a lot and would recommend it without a doubt.
The issue is basically a workflow annoyance, because you have to re-adjust the window size each time you add a new instance. And it happens only on 125% scale. Still sucks though
It reappeared when they fixed the blank space issue in 12.0.30 !?
Seems so
As I was also testing FabFilter plugins when doing an investigation for this issue on 12.0.20 and they worked fine.
Thanks for your report. We’re investigating the repro. I’ll let you know about our findings.
We believe this is no longer reproducible with the upcoming update (12.0.40). Let us know if it’s back to normal.
Just installed and tested an update 12.0.40. FabFilter plugins are back to normal and maintain their window size when adding new instances.
Just asking but is there a fix for this issue on Cubase 11? I know that Cubase 12 has resolved it, but how about C11 users? Without changing the scale, I mean
