Hi,
Then you are controlling Cubase via the Generic Remote.
You didn’t setup Lunchkey as Mackie Control, so this cannot be the case.
Hi,

This is how things look with the Lunchkey connected.
What might be best practice with this setup?
Only got the Launchkey a couple of days ago.
So this is in use as common/basic MIDI Controller and the data are routed to the MIDI/Instrument tracks. The data don’t control Cubase (remotely).
Hi Martin
what is “mackie more”?
Hi,
Sorry, auto correction… Had the Mackie mode been enabled on the device?
Hi Martin
there is no specific way to enable mackie mode on the R24, if you start it up as “audio interface” (which I have done) i can function both as audio interface and controller.
How can I monitor possible conflicting MIDI messages (ref. to your question before)?
Hi,
Add a MIDI Track. In the Inspector open the MIDI Inserts tab and add the MIDI Monitor.
Martin
as such I do not see a button “midi monitor”. If I push on the “edit channel settings” (in red in picture below) i get the pop up as in screenshot below.
Hi,
This is Cubase LE or AI, right? There are no MIDI Inserts.
Then just add A MIDI track, hit record and move the 1st fader. What MIDI messages does it record?
Martin
Yes I have elements 12. While recording and moving the first fader i have the following screen:
Hi,
Double click the MIDI Part to open it in the Key Editor and show the controller line. Then you will see an* next to the controller in use.
Hi,
We need the input from your Zoom hardware.
Martin,
If recording the midi track and moving the faders on the R24 nothing happens, so he did not record anything…so also the key editor does not show anything… or am I missing out your point?
Hi,
Is the Zoom MIDI Part enabled for the All MIDI Inputs in the Studio > Studio Setup > MIDI Ports Setup?
yes it is
Hi,
If it’s enables, you can see the incoming MIDI Messages to the track, if the All MIDI Inputs is enabled.
Otherwise any other device has to block it.
You could also use 3rd party software MIDI O-X to inspect the MIDI Messages.
Martin
while testing your suggestions, I only have the R24 connected. Also if I connect it to an other DAW (in my case here Reaper) it just works fine, so there must be a conflict somewhere inside Cubase with the MIDI messages…I downloaded this MIDI O-X but I do not have all this technical knowledge, so I am stuck there. ANy other suggestions to get out of this?
Hello, I’ve had this problem for a long time now (several months) and nothing I’ve tried has seemed to have any effect. What I’ve noticed is that the Zoom hardware itself simply isn’t sending any MIDI information at all to the computer. Either that or the computer isn’t recognizing the signal. Both third party software and online testing websites have proved that the computer isn’t receiving signal from the R24. I’m assuming that this hardware (which came out in 2004) isn’t having the drivers maintained well enough or something. To anyone having this issue, I recommend using MIDI testing software or a website to confirm whether your R24 is sending a MIDI signal.
Hi and welcome to the forum,
Isn’t there any setup, where you can choose the MIDI on the R24? At some devices, you can set to sent the MIDI Out to the MIDI Out, or USB-MIDI Out, or both. Isn’t this the case too?
