Cubase 12 Pro: Zoom R24 controller not working

I am using a Zoom R24 with Cubase 13, I guess it doesn’t make much difference. As a DAW controller it worked half-way with Mackie Control, transport and faders OK but not all buttons were assigned a function.
For me, it worked as plug and play when i chosed “add device /Mackie” in Studio Setup.
But I wanted to get it maxed out and be able to use all the possible button available (which isn’t much actually) and decided to give the Midi Remote Mapping tool a try and I built a script.

So far liking the midi remote tool and I managed to make my script. It works, to the exception of the hardware’s tracks lights satus (3 colors) not anymore corresponding to the DAW “mute/solo/rec enable” status, a bummer but whatever. (The hardware has 3 “pages” to toggle the single button per track to rec, solo or mute. The lights were behaving correctly with Mackie Control though). For instance, If I mute a track in the DAW, the lights for mute will light up on the device, but if I unmute, the light will stay on. Any light (pun intended) from MIDI scientist welcome.

Also, I would like to know, which parameter I have to assign, to get the shuttle wheel working for bidirectional jog, but I digress.

Recently, I acquired a CC121 and decided to reset the ZoomR24 from my script back to generic Mackie Controls, especially to get the controller lights working normal again . And I can’t manage to do it. For one, Cubase force the script back, I had to delete it from local folder but also, even after several restart, the Mackie control map seems empty for the Zoom R24, very puzzling.

Anyway, if anyone interested with my Zoom R24 Midi Remote script, i can share it. It’s not perfect though, like I said, the lights acts weird, as if it idn’t receive right midi info back from software. and I couldn’t find the parameter for the jog wheel.

Hi,

There is very good Mackie Control MIDI Remote script available. You can download and try it. Maybe it will meet your needs. It you can use it as an inspiration (lots of great code in ideas there) or as a starting point.

Regarding your questions, do you write JavaScript code, or do you use MIDI Remote Assistant in Cubase, please?
