My solution was (Waves plugin related) to open the ”Waves Central” app and go to Settings and choose Repair after I done that Cubase started up without any delays:clap:
Yes, I am finding Waves copy protection licensing software to be an unreliable liability. For no obvious reason the licenses just drop out sometimes and I have to go through the repair process yet again.
Yep, same here.
It’s definitely Waves, which is to blame here.
They programmed their plugins also kinda outside the VST3 standard, and thats why we have this issues.
Its the only company I know, which has a single VST “shell” where all plugins are loaded inside, this screams for issues.
Quite frankly, this issue and their dreadful VST3 implementation has stopped me from buying any more of their plugs. I only use them for their excellent ADT and PUIG compressor.
I won’t be buying any more plugs from them until they bring their VST3 products in line with normal VST3 specifications.
To be honest their newer plugins all suck anyway imho. Some of their classic plugins they got right at the beginning are worth having, the rest is just always the same thing in another UI.
Waves have FAR too many plugins to start with. It’s ridiculous, and pure marketing, and nothing to do with techincal requirements for mixing. Pure product selling.
Personally I do almost all my mixing with Fabfilter plugs, which each have a specific area of use, have great sonic performance and GUI, and don’t constantly require updates.
Waves is something else entirely, and IMHO is a bit of a mess. Their ADT and PUIG is worth having, but most of their stuff just leaves me bemused. As the great David Pensado said - “If you take more than 5 seconds deciding which reverb/delay/etc you should use on a track, then you have too many plugins”.
Add in the horrible Waves VST3 implementation and I just say no more for me.
