My new system:

  • Ryzen 9 7950X 16-Core Processor 4.50 GHz
    /newest Chipset driver AMD Chipset Driver V6.06.11.2153 2024/07/04

  • Asus ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO BIOS 2124
    newest Bios 2024/07/19

  • 32Gb*2 Kingston Fury Beast AMD XMP/Expo default 4800

  • Asus GeForce 1070 /newest driver Studio driver 560.70 July 16, 2024

  • RME AIO /newest driver 4.48

  • Windows 11 Pro 23H2 OS Build 22631.3958
    Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22700.1026.0

1Tb ssd Samsung 980 Pro Windows10 -System, many 3rd party plugins
1Tb ssd Samsung 980 Pro Windows11 -Newest Clean System - Only Cubase13, Halion7, Groove Agent, Padshop, Backbone, Overloud TH-U
2Tb ssd Samsung 980 Pro - Libriaries Steinberg, XLN, Nexus and others
4Tb ssd Kingston Fury Renegade - Libriaries, Samples, Toontrack, Kontakt

THE PROBLEM:
Cubase 13.0.41 crashes Randomly On hub, on loading projects, on closing, on saving. Sometimes the project can be opened only from the 10th time!!!

On Windows 10ā€¦where many 3rd pluginsā€¦Nexus, Waves, Izotope, KorgM1, Melda can influence on crashing Cubase 13 and Cubase12!!!
Reaper DOESNt break!!!!! Its WORK!!! Studio ONE - IT`S WORK!!!
CUBASE 12 and 13 dropes out, crashes on desktop. And if the project was able to open, it cannot close properly. Everytime Safemode on startup Cubase12 or 13.

Abolutely the SAME PROBLEMS on Windows11:
I bought a new one SSD and install new clean system Windows11:
Only Cubase, Halion7, Groove Agent, Padshop, Backbone, Overloud TH-U.

THE SAME PROBLEM! especially when the project has Halion7, Padshop, Backbone, Groove Agent - They are 3rd party plugins of Steinberg!!!)
If I use only uvi Falcon projects are more stableā€¦
I hoped that working only on stock Steinberg plugins the system would work stably!!!
But Stability only in Reaper or in Studio One!

Can you help solve this problem, give some explanations PLEASE?!

@dimdvp I have exactly the same system ( Iā€™m using RME UFX III) and have the same problems.

what helped for me was.

Run the MMCSS fix

Then set your midi in the studio menu -midi devices-

to use Windows RT midi not the default one.

Just Fix?

  • Deactivate Hyperthreading or simultaneous multithreading
  • Deactivate logical cores in the UEFI/BIOS

On different forums say that don`t deactivate SMT and Coresā€¦

yes, run the tool in the link and set the MMCSS threads to Max.

then set your midi to ā€˜RTā€™ā€¦reboot and see how things are.

donā€™t do the hyperthreading or BIOS , thatā€™s not needed and will make performance worse, thatā€™s OLD info.

Thank you, at least Cubase itself started running on Windows 10, but projects still randomly crash. In general, it seems that Cubase is an old nag with new programmers who have not been taught how to work with modern multi-core processors!!! (reaper, Studio1 works with SMT well)

Most crash dumps show some memory corruption where content data seems to be involved. Is it possible, you have some corrupted vstsound(s)?
