So far, I’m really enjoying 13. Overall, there are some great enhancements that I’ve wanted for a long time. I am over the moon ecstatic about channel conversion! Wow!
My only complaint at the moment is that I can no longer use the mouse scroll-wheel on track send levels. Maybe this is just a small oversight by the team and will be patched in a maintenance update.
I agree 100% it is disappointing that not a mention of integration with Dorico or even improvement of the (extremely outdated) Score Editor have been made. The improvements to the Midi Editor is nice, might be worth the Upgrade, but when it comes to Scoring… Zero.
This is not a bug as far as I know. There is now a button in the preferences which prevents mouse scroll from editing parameters and it is enabled by default.
You can simply disable this to get the same behaviour you would have in Cubase 12
I have a Steinberg Houston Controller, yes I know this is an ugly looking device and deliberately not spoken about by Steinberg. However I find it to be an extremely useful and versatile mixer and although Steinberg would apparently forget about it, they have thankfully maintained support for it in every new release over the years.
Can anyone confirm that Cubase 13 will maintain this support. This is a must for me if I am to upgrade to 13.
I think this was added as people were getting frustrated when attempting to scroll through the mix console and were accidently adjusting fader or send levels. Enabling this should fix that problem.
Well in all fairness, it’s really odd design that you can only scroll the mix window in very specific areas. I’d gladly disable the mouse scroll wheel setting if I could then scroll the mix window from almost anywhere (except for the faders maybe).
Hello, I had the same problems with buying an update to Halion 7. I couldn’t make payment from 2 payment cards. In the end it went without a problem using my PayPal account.
I don’t know but I have a feeling that history likes to repeat itself. Everyone was looking forward to the new version of Cubase and I have to admit that it brought a lot of cool and useful new features. However, I don’t understand why there are problems and errors again with so many users. What is the reason for this ? Poorly written Cubase or maybe third-party plug-ins that mess up the whole system too much ? It was the same when Cubase 12 came out, where it took at least a few updates for everything to just start working as it should. Does the addition of a few new features or plug-ins cause many users to complain about Cubase’s performance again ? I understand that new features and plug-ins are needed, but I think that the quality of the program should come first, not the quantity of what it offers. There is no pleasure in working with a program that creates some problems and errors every now and then, no matter what it offers. Such a program is simply underdeveloped. It’s just like a car… It can have literally everything but if the engine is defective then there is no joy and use from driving… I wanted to purchase C13, but reading the forum, I decided to hold off a bit, waiting for updates and bug fixes. So far Cubase Pro 12 is working flawlessly for me and I’m sticking to it for now.
It’s something like 2 years I do not use Cubase, I bought the 12 and did not use it a single time, now I just bought the 13 but with the good amount of new features i am sure this is the good time to get inspired
Thank you Steinberg!
I suppose they heavily overhauled the UI code which - even if the controls may look the same aftwards - require rewriting a lot of code. Sometimes it’s only small changes but then you copy paste some code and forget about a line and there you have it - a newly introduced bug in an area that has been working flawlessly for the last five years.
I agree, that there are a lot of glitches (though I’m not affected) and I wonder how they actually release a version with already known issues that will be solved with the next maintenance update. IMO the additional delay due to the store being unavailable, should have been sufficient to address most issues.
In the end we all know how it works with Steinberg, so I didn’t have any expectation of a (almost) bug-free first release - so I’m good.
What I’m really disappointed about is the fact that C13 was not released on a Wednesday. So shame on you @Matthias_Quellmann , I hope you at least wore the appropriate socks yesterday!
Cubase 13 is already a disappointment for me, without even buying and looking into it. Not a single midi remote bug fix, justifies that I was, simply said, “ripped off” by Steinberg. They will see not a single cent from me, until crucial bugs are fixed and improvements are done for the midi remote. Cubase 13 is just a evil joke.
Hi Tony_ST, thanks for sharing this information. A follow-up question, do you get the option to select PayPal when you’re in “Your order”? I only have the option to select “Credit / Debit card”.
Love C13!
Is there a dedicated thread for bug reports?
I’ve noticed a bug when I drag the ruler for resizing the project arrangement, which I use all the time to zoom in and out.
There is a lag before it starts to zoom. (PC, Windows user)
